Delna and I have just spent 4 days in Marrakech, soaking up the atmosphere in the souks and the Medina. The Medina is a haven for photographers with fascinating faces and colour. In the Medina I mainly chose to shoot from the hip at about 1/20th, 1/25th of a second with the mode set at shutter. The noise and the bustle and not bringing the camera to your eye disguise the fact you are taking pictures and results in attractive blurring of the images, emphasising the movement. The Moroccans are not keen on having their pictures taken, especially the women. If they spot you taking pictures the men usually demand money and the women hide their faces. I have called this photograph Girl in the Medina. It shows a young girl with a mix of traditional and modern dress.
